Title & Credits design for Yuki Chiba’s 「ありのまま」 Music video.
The director’s treatment/shot plan showed the entire scene taking place at an intersection, via a bird’s-eye diagram. Something about the ま in ありのまま flashed in my mind to the ま in 止まれ (“Stop”), as hand-painted on the road at many intersections throughout Japan, vertically stretched to appear as proportional from a distance. Since Yuki likes キラキラ, I thought the chalk guidelines used to lay out the real-world letterforms (and visible for awhile after application) could form a basis to create some graphic flash and motion: a styled-up version of something quotidian fit nicely with the theme of the track.
Things don’t always converge this tidily but when they do…
Just for fun, I’ve included a preliminary motion test/sketch at the end with larger placement (hehe) and more movement (hehehe).
